Competitor Route

From M6 Southbound:

Travelling either south on the A49 from the M56 or West on the A5 from Telford/Birmingham you will come on to the Shrewsbury Bypass now called the A5 following signs for Wales.

When you reach a large traffic light island with a Dobbies Garden Centre on it, take the 3rd exit toward Shrewsbury town centre A5112 past the park and ride and straight over the island outside Sainsburys/Toys R us.

At the Meale Brace Island (Traffic Lights) take the 2nd exit keeping left and go up the hill on the B4380 and over the railway bridge towards the next island.

Take the 1st left onto Longden Road (watch out for mobile speed cameras) keep going you will go over the bypass and through Hook-A-Gate, Annescroft, Longden, Longden Common and Pulverbatch. Just keep on going!.

Eventually that road will go up on to the top of the long Mynd Hill and down the other side. The next turning left is by the Bridges Pub and will have a blue and white SORC sign.

Take that left and follow the narrow road round to the left and over a narrow little bridge. At the T junction turn left (Signposted) keep following this lane towards the Church. Past the farm buildings on the right and Brow Farm/official camp site on the left. Follow the road around a couple of right hand bends and keep going for about half a mile, the camping site will be sign posted either left or right which ever the most suitable on the weekend.

Do NOT tow trailers up the Burway out of Church Stretton or out of Leebotwood, many other roads will be too steep for towing, once you have turned towards the Meale Brace Island your Satnav should do the rest!!
